HOTELS AND B&B'S BOOKED.

Well, over the past couple of days, I have booked all the accommodation needed for us to arrive in Skye on Tuesday, 2nd June.

On Wednesday, 27th May, we are staying at The Newton Hotel in Nairn (and hopefully having dinner with my old friend Gordon Main and his wife, Susan).

Thursday night, we are staying at The Melvich Hotel, some 17 miles west of Thurso.

Friday - we are at the Old School Restaurant & Rooms in Kinlochbervie.

Saturday and Sunday nights, we are staying at the West House B&B in Ullapool.

And on Monday, 1st June, we are at The Plockton Hotel in Plockton.

This leaves us only about 40 miles to drive to the Cuillin Hills Hotel in Portree on the Tuesday.

So we now have a schedule and all the accommodation booked - apart from when we leave Skye, with the plan being to come back via the Glenfinnan Viaduct and Glencoe. Probably just try and find a B&B as and when, on the road home.

EVENTUALLY! A ROAD TRIP IS PLANNED!!

Having talked about travelling round the northern coast of our own country for about two or three years now, we have finally decided to go for it , before we get too old!

So, we have today booked an hotel in Skye for the days of Tuesday, 2nd June to Friday, 5th June - and now we need to plan backwards from there.

I think we'll be leaving on Wednesday, 27th May and staying overnight in Nairn that day. Thereafter, we'll travel north to John O'Groats, along to Durness / Cape Wrath and then down the west coast, with a view to arriving in Skye on the appointed day - i.e. 6 days after we leave Peebles.

That's the plan.
